Back-to-school enrollment is open!

For a limited back-to-school window, Body Literacy Lab is open for enrollment.

If you’ve been wanting your kids or teens to understand how their bodies actually work, not just memorize facts or follow another list of health rules, you can join us now.

Because when kids understand the WHY behind what their bodies are doing...

They start noticing.

They start connecting the dots.

And they begin making choices because they understand, not simply because an adult told them to.

Want to try a class first?

I get it.

Sometimes you want to see what a class actually feels like before deciding whether it’s a good fit for your family.

That’s exactly what the FREE Blood Sugar Mini Lab is for.

In this class, your kids will learn what blood sugar actually is, why the body needs glucose, and begin connecting what’s happening inside their bodies with things they may already notice, like hunger, energy, focus, and mood.

I’m not teaching kids that certain foods are “good” or “bad.”

And I’m not giving them another list of rules to follow.

I’m helping them understand the science behind what their bodies are doing.

Because once kids understand the WHY...

They start paying attention differently.

Inside Body Literacy Lab

The Mini Lab is just a peek

Inside Body Literacy Lab, we take that same kind of learning and explore the human body in a much bigger way.

Kids and teens learn real physiology and begin connecting the science to things they experience every single day.

Things like:

Energy
Digestion
Sleep
Stress
The brain
Blood sugar
Food
Movement
Hormones
Hunger and fullness
Focus
Mood

But I don’t want kids simply memorizing body parts and vocabulary.

I want them asking:

Why do I feel this way?

What is happening inside my body?

Why did my body respond like that?

What is my body trying to tell me?

That’s where something shifts.

They become more curious.

More invested.

More aware of how their bodies feel and respond.

That is what body literacy does.

What families are saying

“BLL is more than a curriculum, it is a learning experience , fun, thoughtful, engaging, and inspiring!”Stacy G.

Meet your teacher

Hi, I’m Darcy Haas

I’m a Registered Nurse, Functional Nutritionist, homeschool mom of five, and founder of Body Literacy Lab.

After years of working in healthcare, I realized something important:

Kids struggle with food, focus, energy, cravings, and behavior for one simple reason...

They don’t understand how their bodies work.

Once kids learn the why:

They stop resisting.

They start noticing how food affects them.

They begin making choices that help them feel better.

And it all happens naturally without nagging from Mom.

That’s why I created Body Literacy Lab.

I wanted to bring body literacy into the homeschool world in a way that is fun, practical, honest, and connected to real life.

Because health education shouldn’t just tell kids what to do.

It should help them understand themselves.

Give your kids the WHY behind their bodies

I don’t want kids to simply be told what healthy choices they should make.

I want them to understand what is actually happening inside their bodies.

  • To notice.
  • To ask questions.
  • To connect the dots.
  • And to have the knowledge they need to make thoughtful choices as they grow.

That’s what we do inside Body Literacy Lab.

Back-to-school enrollment is currently open, so if this sounds like the kind of science education you’ve been looking for, I’d love to have your family inside the Lab.
